Airport Transfer
To South Beach, a shuttle bus is 18 $ (13 euro)
Just take SuperShuttle. ... Also about $18.00 a person. Cab has a $35.00 flat fee per cab (plus tip) to anywhere in SoBe. So if you have 2 or more together a cab is a better deal. If you MUST use public transport, take the airport shuttle bus to Metro-Rail & then follow the directions in #3.

Getting to Miami from Europe is easy and pretty cheap. There is huge competition.
You are more than half way to many South American destinations. There are also many flights going South to central and South America. So it's an obvious stopover but reasonable quality accomodation will cost more.
And the alternatives are the carribean and Mexico. Pfff ... who'd choose Miami? It is cheap though and if you restrict the overnights you might create a low low price "el cheapo" option.
